A Royal Doulton famous figurine of "The Cobbler", designed by C.J. Noke and hand-signed by the artist on the side of the figurine. This piece is of an Arab shoe mender, who was most likely applying his trade in one of the bazaars, he looks like he's been at it for awhile.
As you can see from the photo the piece is in an excellent condition, there are no chips or cracks.
Royal Doulton produced "The Cobbler" figurine between the years 1935 - 1969, they then discontinued production after that, so this piece is at least approx over 40 years old.
The markings on the base is the usual Royal Doulton back stamp of the lion standing on the crown, with Made in England and the circular logo, underneath that is the word in quotes "Cobbler", underneath that is the registration mark H.N.1706, after the six is a mark which could be the artists mark. There is also an impressed mark towards the back edge, 02. The Cobbler is in Mint Condition!
